Allianz UK extends support of British Paralympic Association until Tokyo 2020
The British Paralympic Association (BPA) and Allianz UK have extended their partnership through until 2020, including both the PyeongChang 2018 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
Allianz UK first partnered with the BPA in January 2016 as the team completed their final preparation for a record-breaking Games in Rio that summer.The extension complements the Allianz SE Group’s support of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) which now runs through until 2020.
Allianz UK will support the BPA with their crucial preparations for Pyeongchang and Tokyo, ensuring that the most competitive ParalympicsGB team is ready to compete on the biggest stage in disability sport and to inspire and engage the nation through their performances on the field of play.
The BPA will continue to support Allianz’s commitment to promoting inclusion, diversity, and excellence, both in the workplace and in the world of competitive sport.
Jon Dye, chief executive, Allianz Insurance, commented: “We are delighted to announce that we will continue to partner with the BPA through until 2020. With ParalympicsGB’s tremendous performance at Rio 2016, the success of our brand building programme and Allianz’s continued support at International level, it was an easy decision to continue our support. The 2016 partnership was incredibly popular with colleagues and we are very proud to continue the association.”
Tim Hollingsworth, chief executive of the BPA, added: “Allianz have very much established themselves as part of the Paralympic family here in the UK through their work with us, a team of athlete ambassadors and their broadcast partnership with Channel 4. We are delighted to continue to develop this relationship as we look towards Pyeongchang 2018 and Tokyo 2020.”
ALP and Lawyers Inc. announce new partnership
Allianz Legal Protection (ALP) and Lawyers Inc. are delighted to announce a new partnership in which ALP will provide ATE Insurance for Lawyers Inc. law firms.
Lawyers Inc. is a unique Alternative Business Structure (ABS) offering law firms the opportunity to restructure under its "umbrella". This enables a law firm to completely outsource administration, insurance and employment matters. It also offers law firms a succession structure for its younger lawyers and an exit strategy for senior lawyers.
The ‘pod’ model has been developed over 2 years in conjunction with leading regulatory Counsel and has received full approval of the SRA.

New appointment in our business development team
We are delighted to confirm the appointment our of new senior business developer Mike Wildy. Mike joined Allianz Legal Protection in November 2008 as part of the Technical team.
Before joining Allianz Mike worked for a specialist run-off management company concentrating on commutation, due diligence and audit within the global reinsurance market.
Mike comments “This is an exciting time to be joining the development team at ALP. The legal expenses market in the UK continues to evolve and we are in an excellent position to respond to these changes. By working with business partners to identify opportunities and in turn construct and deliver innovative solutions to our mutual clients I believe we are well-placed to continue to deliver value across our portfolio. I very much look forward to being a key part of this."
