Phil took up his position at ALP on the 1 January 2003. He has worked for Allianz Insurance plc for over 25 years, being at head office in Guildford, the surrounding South East area and latterly, the Commercial Line’s Bristol Branch. Phil’s background is sales and marketing.

Peter Dobie joined as Underwriting Manager in July 2003. 
With over 25 years experience in the insurance industry, predominantly within Legal Expenses, Peter worked for Royal Sun Alliance, DAS and most recently for Wren Insurance Services (Brit). Peter’s primary role is to lead and develop
the underwriting team and to further enhance the presence of Allianz Legal Protection as a leading company in the Legal Protection Insurance market.

David Vine joined as Business Development Manager on the
30th June 2003. David has overall responsibility for Business Development within ALP. David joined ALP having spent the past six years with the Allianz Commercial branch in Bristol as the Development Manager for the South West and Wales.

Chris Alton, ACII– Claims Manager

Chris Alton joined as Claims Manager on the 1st September 2004.  Chris brings with him over 25 years experience in the insurance industry and was most recently claims director at Hill House Hammond in Bristol. Prior to that, Chris spent his career at Royal Insurance where he gained considerable experience in both HR and Claims. Chris’s primary role at ALP will be to lead and develop the claims team.

Norman Clark, Business Administrations Manager

Norman Clark was one of the original founding fathers of ALP
in November 1985. He is a Qualified Chartered Management Accountant and a member of the British Institute of Management. His career in insurance began in 1982 at DAS, working for 3 years as their Accountant/Business Administration Manager. During the last 20 years Norman has worked with the management teams in helping to develop ALP to its leadership position within the legal protection insurance market.
