Award Achievements

Allianz Insurance has been named ‘General Insurer of the Year’ at the prestigious British Insurance Awards 2010.

At a ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall, chief executive, Andrew Torrance collected the accolade which was awarded by a 22 strong panel of practitioners, analysts, consultants, industry commentators, political representatives and market experts. Following the ceremony, Andrew Torrance said: "I am extremely proud to be leading a company that has been recognised in this way.

This award is a testament to the quality of our people and I would like to thank every one of our employees for all the hard work that has gone into making this success possible. "This award recognises the highly successful year we had in 2009 and the continuing strength and stability of our business. At Allianz, we are now looking forward to the challenge of building on this success by continuing our focus on developing an organisation with outstanding capabilities, which delivers great service to its policyholders and broker partners."

Allianz Legal Protection was voted Legal Expenses Provider of the Year 2005 and Highly Commended in 2006 and 2007 at the Insurance Times Awards.

The award forms part of the category where no application was necessary with a panel of brokers deciding the shortlist and winner.

Commenting on the 2005 win Phil Ruse, Divisional Manager at Allianz Legal Protection said “This award is an acknowledgement of our continued presence in the market, providing products and services that suit our customer’s needs. All this has been achieved by working closely with customers, actively seeking their feedback and responding to the changes in the market”.
